About JingaTink
JingaTink started because we got tired of landing on pages that promised the moon and delivered a chatbot with the personality of a wet sock. We're a handful of people who've been playing with AI companions since the early GPT-2 days, and we figured someone should actually test these things properly.
Who runs this
No big media company behind us. Just a small crew: two writers who do most of the testing, a developer who keeps the site running, and an editor who makes sure we don't publish nonsense. We pay for our own subscriptions. When a platform offers a free tier, we use it. When it doesn't, we buy the cheapest plan that lets us see the full feature set. Nobody sends us free stuff in exchange for a review — and if that ever changes, we'll say so loudly.
How we test
We spend at least a week with each app before writing a word. That means real conversations, not just clicking through the onboarding. We check how well the AI remembers details from earlier chats, how natural the voice messages sound, whether the image generator produces something that doesn't look like a glitchy mannequin, and how quickly the platform responds when something breaks. We also look at the boring stuff: pricing transparency, cancellation process, privacy policy. Boring is where most apps hide their problems.
Our scores are comparative. A 7 in memory means it's decent but forgets things after a few days. A 9 means it holds context across weeks. We update scores when apps change — and they change a lot. A review from six months ago might not reflect today's version, so we keep a changelog for each platform (you'll find it on the review page).
Editorial independence
We make money through affiliate links. Some of the buttons on this site earn us a commission if you sign up. That's how we keep the lights on. But the commission rate never decides a score. We've given low marks to partners and high marks to platforms that don't pay us a cent. The only thing that affects our ratings is the experience of using the app. If you ever spot a review that feels off, tell us — we'll re-test and correct if needed.
We're adults writing for adults. These apps are 18+ and so is this site. We don't shy away from the flirty stuff, but we also don't pretend these are real relationships. They're software. Good software, sometimes. But software.
